Lumitech is the term given to all devices that use Lumite as a component, which pretty much covers 95% of all technological devices in use. The last 5% include the few manually powered pumps, windmills, clockwork watches, and other constructs. Lumite has two uses, either to provide energy, or absorb energy. The former is the most common. Devices such as glowlamps, heaters,
The second use of Lumite is rarer as the ability to absorb and contain energy is generally less useful. One of the newer inventions to come out of the Artificer’s guild is the Volstag ring, named after Orel Volstag, a Firan artificer and a current member of the Firan Council. The Volstag ring contains an emptied Lumen stone that can absorb energy. It can be used to store force, heat. The downside of the Volstage ring is the energy has to come from the wearer. So to store force, the wearer takes more effort to move. The extra energy is absorbed by the ring. To store heat, the wearer loses body heat and becomes colder. There may be other way to use the Volstag ring, and research on it is ongoing. The Volstage ring doesn’t actually have to be a ring. It can be a necklace, bracer, earring, basically any small wearable item that can hold a piece of Lumite.
